Abortion is one of those topics that just doesn't come up in casual conversation. However, there are many women who have had an abortion and suffer in silence from symptoms of post-abortion grief & trauma.

If you or someone you know has had an abortion please consider the following:

  1. Do you feel that you never completely healed or recovered from an abortion experience?
  2. Do you feel that a past abortion may be affecting your current quality of life?
  3. Do you feel alone in your environment, like "I'm the only woman I know that has had an abortion"?
  4. Have you accepted forgiveness for a past abortion but still feel a distance between you and Christ?

If you answered yes to any of these questions please consider taking this study. Surrendering the Secret provides a supportive & confidential environment that facilitates healing and restoration.

For more information, or if you just need someone to talk to, please contact Sabina Bravo Persons, spersons@humc.us or 810-623-1999.

Testimonials from previous attenders

"Surrendering the Secret allowed me to talk about my 'secret' for the first time in over 20 years . It opened my eyes to how much guilt, shame, and burden  I had been carrying around for so long. I really realized for the first time, that Jesus could truly forgive me and wipe away my shame. I am free in Christ Jesus and believe that God can use this to His glory to bring truth and hope to women all over. It has truly changed my life forever!"

"When I started Surrendering the Secret group, I knew I was still sad about my abortion, but I thought that I was forgiven and just had to live with the realization of what I had done. I had no idea the pain that was still hiding in my heart. More importantly, I had no idea the freedom that was waiting for me when I could finally truly accept Christ's forgiveness about my abortion.
