Year End Giving Guide

Thank you for giving to support our witness for Christ this past year. It’s been an amazing year--we’ve closed our doors for a total of 13 Sundays to in-person worship and migrated all our ministries online. Some have lost their jobs. Some have gotten sick. Yet, our viewership on YouTube has been strong and we’ve gained a following from people living all over the country. Despite all this disruption and chaos, our giving is only 3.2% behind last year. This is worthy of note and I rejoice in your efforts to stand firm in a generous community!
As the year end approaches, I invite you to help us finish strong and set us up for success in 2021. Many people find it advantageous tax-wise to make special contributions before the end of the year. Others may wish to catch up on what got neglected in the turmoil and uncertainty of the past months. One thing is certain: we intend to fulfill our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world!
Consider a special gift this December to HUMC. There are 4 special appeals you might consider:
General Fund--help us fill in the gap and surpass last year’s giving (about $11,000)
Loan balance--remaining balance is $345,537
Power Company Kids Club--our Christmas Eve offering challenge to raise $7500.
Key of Hope--our second-mile offering set for December 27.

Our counters are an able team of volunteers led by Dick Cole who count offerings and make deposits faithfully on our behalf. They’ll be in on December 28 for their final deposit of the year. Online gifts can be made up to December 31.
Many visitors to our FaceBook page have also used the donate button on that page. FaceBook donations all go to the HUMC general fund. FaceBook sends acknowledgements to the donor for these gifts.
